Marine packaging of stone

Stone packaging is very important, can protect the stone in the long sea journey is not damaged, then the manufacturer in peacetime is how to package the stone?
The frame is usually made of strong wood, such as pine, oak, etc. These woods have good strength and toughness, can withstand the weight of the stone and provide some protection. The dimensions of the frame are customized to the specifications of the stone, ensuring that the stone can be embedded tightly, reducing shaking and collision during transportation.
For large stone plates, the structure of the frame will be more complex, and multi-layer wood splicing or reinforcement may be used to improve the overall stability and bearing capacity.
Between the stone and the wood frame, as well as between the various contact surfaces of the stone, cushioning materials are needed to prevent the stone from being damaged by collisions during transportation. Common buffer materials are foam board, bubble film, rubber cushion and so on.
Foam board has good cushioning performance and compressive strength, and can effectively absorb impact force. The bubble film is lightweight and flexible, and can be used to wrap the corners and surfaces of the stone, providing additional protection. Rubber pad has good wear resistance and elasticity, suitable for some heavier or more sharp corners of the stone.
In the process of shipping, stone may be affected by seawater, moisture, etc., so it is necessary to carry out waterproof and moisture-proof treatment. Generally, plastic film is used to wrap the stone as a whole to ensure that the stone surface is isolated from the outside water.
On the outside of the wooden frame, a layer of waterproof canvas or plastic sheet will also be covered to further enhance the waterproof performance of the packaging. For some stone that is more sensitive to humidity, desiccant may also be placed in the package to absorb moisture in the air and maintain a dry environment inside the package.
